looks today is the day that sam leaves

we will miss our horse but we learned a klots by having him and we saved his life til we could find him good he would have been put down more than a year ago uif we had not taken him in

just horsing arround

Sam followed me to the door up the ramp and had be backed down the ramp he is a lobnely horse at least is getting fixed

tommorrow is the day

Sam is supposed to move to his new home

Looks like sam is going to our trainer at least for this winter

the end of keeeping a horse

it is just too much work we have found sam one home in a pinch hoping to place him thouugh with girl whoose family keeps haroses

another horsey escape but with something a tad fishy

sam got and went over to see Chad. cHAD WAS NOT AMUSED. he called the cops we tretreived and found a tree fallen onto the eltric fence knocking it down in a section so sam was able to just walk out.

what knocked the tree down is something of a mystery

Hay fever

the arival of hay half of it it is here the other half is in some one barn a bale of hay for more than every other day

that when ihe is let out to graze he can reach the unmowed front yard

same is being good about eating the yard and just those parts of it that we want him too

another paddock in the woods will be finished soon and sam will be lead out there to eat during the day

slowly that is or he horse brayed himself totaly horse

sadly one of our horses aeolae has develpoed a problem and needs to be put down

well

Aeolae got her last round of oats today tyou can she is hurts a bit

the end of AEolae

today sadly is the end of aeolae with a serious casee of back problems that the vet says are unfixable and causing her pain the sentence was handed down DEATH today the arrnagements allow it to be carried out

bad news from the vet....

Aeolae is not healing up right after some surgery unless this changes the only humane thing to do will be to put her down

Samwise the lucky is healing from his problems and so we will have one fit horse

we made it through the winter but what now...I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by the pair of them and the pressure of the affection they give is a big deal like how could I consider anything but keeping them

every new horse owner goes through this I guess or do they?

well it is feb and

still a lot of a hay but i had to dig some more out for them to find so far they are doing well this winter

next summer hopefully they can move from lawn ornaments to working horses

giving one horse a pill is....

Aeolae needs some meds first you hide the powdered horse pill in molassas then feed in some grain and give sweet feed tedious but she needs it

had the vet over today

Aolea was a limping a bit she will need a minor surgery in the spring but should be fine after that. it could be done now if I could take to wisconsin but instated we have a mild meds for her and then do the surgery here in a couple of months

well the horses do love US

for several days Id guess the fence has been cut open and the horses surely noticed but took no effort to leave. just finished repairing the fence

in facts what they get is juist plup from processing beets for their sugar, next year we may get them some real real beets (sold as deer bait arround here

A dya with the fairer

had a long day yesterday with the horses. the fairer came ( fairer is the guys or gal takes care of hoofs for the horse folk in the readership) and did his thing with the guys took a while a new to them fairer, and the horses have not been to see one as often as they should have in the past it took a while but no one got hurt and the horses seem to feel better but the people (us) are beat. Aeolae was a realy good horse although she was VERY dubious about the whole however
